For residents in Dallas Center, an electrical malfunction at the water tower has led to a drinking water advisory.

The City of Dallas Center Water Supply is recommending its residents to boil water before using it for drinking or to use an alternative source. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.

The water may be used for bathing and other similar purposes and if the water is colored use an alternative source of water.
