Greene County will have a second chance at the first cross-country meet of the season tomorrow. Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s Rams travel to West Central Valley High School east of Stuart for a coed meet at 4 p.m. The Rams were to have opened last Thursday in Ames on the Iowa State University course for the Gilbert Invite, but that was weathered out, and the Gilbert meet makeup date doesn’t work for the Greene County teams.

Activities Director Todd Gordon talks about the cross-country teams. “Our numbers there aren’t great with five girls and 10 boys. We’ll be able to field a boys’ team and field a girls’ team and count in the standings if we’re healthy. It’s such a tough sport, too, and we appreciate the kids that are out and committing to that sport. It’s too bad the kids didn’t get to run on that Iowa State course because that’s such a fantastic course to run on, compete on.”
