Greene County High School head football coach Caden Duncan talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the football series with Perry, also known as “The Battle for the Cowbell,” which will have its next chapter tomorrow night at Linduska Field in Jefferson. “It’s pretty cool. There aren’t many schools that get to experience something like that. Our school and communities, certainly our players, all take pride in it, and hopefully, we can keep the Cowbell.” The series goes back to 1898 and the Cowbell was introduced in 1928 by the Rotary Clubs of Jefferson and Perry. Teams based in Jefferson have a 59-29-2 advantage playing for the Cowbell.

The Rams and Blue Jays are both 0-1 after losses last Friday night. The Blue Jays were shut out at Dewey Field 33-0 by Ogden, while the Rams dropped an overtime game, 29-27 in Guthrie Center to ACGC.

Friday night’s contest can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com, as well as KDLS 1310AM/99.7FM.
