A free event and carnival are coming up tomorrow with a church in Jefferson.

The First United Methodist Church is hosting a “Blessing of the Backpacks” during its worship service tomorrow at 10am. All kids are invited to get their backpacks blessed for the school year. Following worship service will be a free carnival in Russell Park. Kids and families can enjoy lunch, pony rides, games, a bags tournament and more.

You do not need to be a member of the church to be involved in either the “Blessing of the Backpacks” or the carnival, as the public is encouraged to attend.
