Greene County lost to South Central Calhoun, then won vs. Panorama in non-conference high school volleyball in the high school gym in Jefferson last night. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams are 9-5 on the season after losing 21-25, 18-25 to the Titans, and beating the Panthers 25-10, 30-28. SCC won 25-11, 25-15 vs. Panorama to improve to 15-13, while the Panthers fell to 5-6.

The Rams led SCC 9-3 in set one before the Titans put on a comeback. The Rams were ahead 20-19 before the Titans scored six of the last seven points to win. Set two saw the Rams go up 14-7, only to be out scored 18-4 from that point on.

Against the Panthers, the first set was tied 8-8, then two 8-0 runs put the set into the Greene County win column. Panorama led set two 11-4 before the Rams went on a 7-0 run to tie it 11-11. The team traded small leads from that point forward before Greene County finally prevailed.
