When Greene County plays Class 2A District 8 high school football tomorrow night in Clarinda, it will be the Rams longest road trip of the regular season (122 miles) in addition to being a key game to determine the district champion. Both teams are 1-0 in district play and Friday’s winner will have a leg up in the district race.

Clarinda is coming off a 40-6 district opening victory vs. Clarke (Osceola) last Friday after three straight non-district losses. Including Greene County, the Cardinals five opponents enter this week with either zero or one loss- a difficult schedule to say the least.

Caden Duncan is head coach of the Rams and he told Raccoon Valley Radio Clarinda is talented and big, and he expects a physical contest for the Cardinals’ homecoming game.

The Rams are 3-1 and winners of three games in a row. The contest can be heard Friday night on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 6:15 p.m. and kickoff at 7 o’clock.
