An annual two-day event kicks off today for art lovers and will give them a chance to see art in the making and where it’s made.

The Art Harvest Tour begins today from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. as well as tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 90-mile loop will take participants to various art studios to see artists making and displaying their art. Art on the Prairie Board Member Lynsi Pasutti explains what to expect.

“It starts and ends in Perry. We’ve got a 90-mile scenic loop of driving and ten different stops from Perry, Woodward, Dallas Center, Boone and Ogden and 24 artists that will be featured along the way. So, half of those are right here in Perry, we’ve got three of the stops and so we will have a great turnout here locally.”

The event will give people the opportunity to see various artists making a variety of art and the products they make. Board Member Mary Rose Nichols tells Raccoon Valley Radio the variety of art people will see.

“What’s really unique about this is the variety of art that they will see. So, there will be artist paintings, stained glass fiber and textiles, printing, ceramics, woven rugs, handmade jewelry, copper and light sculptures.”

The two day Art Harvest Tour will run both today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will even have the potential for people to purchase their own piece of art. For a full map of what to expect you can go here.
