Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in Greene County, the Greene County Medical Center recently announced additional visitation restrictions.

The medical center will no longer allow visitors in acute care, with exception to pediatric patients; and only one visitor is now allowed in the clinics and medical care departments only when medically necessary. Long term care will continue with compassionate care visits only.

As a reminder, visitors must be free from any signs of illness, should not be at high risk for severe disease, remain in the patient’s room as appropriate, required to wear a mask, practice hand hygiene and social distancing; screened by medical center staff upon entering the facility and visitors under the age of 18 are not allowed.

According to the medical center, these changes are intended to protect patients and staff, and to also limit exposure by limiting the number of visitors. They also urge everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated and remind staff that everyone must be fully vaccinated by October 29th.
