Coach Lamoureux’s Greene County boys’ cross-country team finished in fourth place on Thursday in Des Moines at the Saydel Invitational. The Rams were running in their second meet in three days and after weeks of illness, the Rams appeared to be knocking some of the rust off.

Logan Woodruff led the Rams with a 22nd place finish in 19:12 for the five kilometers (3.1 miles). Jayden Carstensen was 23rd in 19:17, followed by Ethan Frederick, 24th in 19:22, Gavyn Winters 29th in 19:42, Jax Carstensen 31st in 19:45.

North Polk (Alleman) won the team title with 34 points, followed by Des Moines Christian 43, I-35 (Truro) 109, Greene County 129, Ankeny Christian Academy 160, Perry 164, Grandview Christian (Des Moines) 186, Van Meter 188, Colfax-Mingo 242, Des Moines Hoover 250, and 310 for Saydel.

Greene County had just two girls run at Saydel. Olivia Shannon placed 29th in 24:47 and Autumn Stevens was 78th in 30:14.
