Since the beginning of the school year the Perry Middle School has resided in the high school for a renovation project which is continuing to come along.

Superintendent Clark Wicks says the middle school renovation project is continuing to move along and soon students will begin to move back into the middle school as their areas will soon be completed.

“We are moving the furniture and supplies into the 7th and 8th grade corridors. We have quite a number of construction workers out there and our goal is that on the 18th we will have 7th and 8th grade students moving into the middle school so it’s a big, big deal.”

Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio it has been a good experience as far as the transition has gone, having the middle school located in the high school at the beginning of this school year. Wicks says soon after the 7th and 8th grade students have moved in, next will be 6th graders.

“Sixth grade will be following after the 7th and 8th grade get in there and get settled in and as soon as that 6th grade corridor is ready to go we will have those folks in there also.”

The Perry Middle School renovation project began earlier this year as a means to update and improve the building for students.
