The high school fall sports postseason has arrived for the Greene County Rams. All three Fall sports the Rams have will be in the postseason this week. Volleyball begins tonight with cross-country on Thursday, and football on Friday night.

Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s volleyball Rams are 15-12 and host 14-14 OABCIG (Ida Grove) tonight at 7 inside the high school gym in Jefferson in a Class 3A Region 3 quarterfinal. The winner goes to Orange City on Wednesday night while the losing team has its season come to an end.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s cross-country runners compete in a 2A State Qualifying Meet on Thursday hosted by Southeast Valley on the golf course at Gowrie. The Rams don’t have enough girls to qualify for a team score, but the boys hope to be competitive.

Friday night is the opening round of Class 2A playoff football and Coach Caden Duncan’s Greene County Rams host Roland-Story (Story City) at 7 p.m. in a round of 32 contest. The winner advances to the round of 16 on Friday, Oct. 29. All Ram playoff games will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
