Girls’ basketball practice with new head coach Tori Ogden officially starts this Monday, Nov. 8. The coach has had open gym and camps last summer, but once Monday gets here, it’s officially time to prepare for the 2021-22 season. This is the first head coaching job for the Fairfield High School grad, who has been an assistant in recent seasons at Southeast Warren (Liberty Center).

The coach will be the first female head coach of the Jefferson-based girls’ basketball program, a program that hasn’t experienced a winning season in several years. Returning varsity experience is limited from the six-victory team of a season ago, but one of the returning players received second team all-conference honors as a junior. Senior Brianna Habben is a 5′ 10″ post player who averaged 10.8 points and hauled in 9.2 rebounds per game, both team highs. Habben also led the Rams in field goal percentage and in blocked shots.

The Rams open the season on Nov. 29 in Ogden as part of a girl/boy doubleheader vs. the Bulldogs. Both games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
