There will be a fun event happening this weekend in Perry with plenty of activities for people to take part in.

The Art on the Prairie Festival will be tomorrow and Sunday. Board Member Lynsi Pasutti says there will be a mixture of activities throughout both days of the festival.

“It should be really exciting. There are 40 visual artists that will be set up in seven buildings as well as 30 musicians that will be performing throughout the day, both days. In addition to that, the Perry Public Library has a really great lineup of activities as well.”

Perry Library Director Mary Murphy tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of those activities includes having seven of the artists in the library and also hosting several children’s programs.

“We are also hosting three children’s programs by Chad Elliot, he’s a singer/songwriter and he has written a children’s book. All of his illustrations, his paintings, are on exhibit now at the library if you want to get a preview of what it’s all about.”

The Art on the Prairie Festival will be taking place tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be live on location from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. For more information on the festival you can go here.
