wcv-10

The long wait is over for WCV winter sports. The boys and girls basketball teams are opening the season against Southeast Warren tonight.

The boys are looking to improve on a rough season in 2020. The boys finished the season with 3-19 record. The season started with three straight losses before getting their first win against Perry 54-48. They struggled the rest of the season. They’ll rely on their leading scorer, senior Hunter Keller, who had 306 points to help the offense.

The girls will be looking to build off some of the momentum started last year. They started out the season strong with a 2-0 start after wins over Ogden and Ankeny Christian. Unfortunately after that WCV lost five straight games. The Wildcats managed to rally late in the season and finished with a 9-13 record. The Wildcats will look to Senior Madelyn Jaeger, she led the team in scoring last season with 405 pts.

The girls will take the court at 6pm. The boys will follow at 7:30.
