The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

County Environmental Administrator Chuck Wenthold told the Board that National Grid Renewables is hosting an open house on December 15th at the Grand Junction Community Center from 10am-2pm for its proposed 150 megawatt solar panel energy project.

The Board heard a presentation from Summit Carbon Solutions about its proposed five-state carbon dioxide pipeline project, which includes Louis Dreyfus in Greene County. The project includes 31 ethanol plants that will transport carbon dioxide emissions to an underground storage facility in North Dakota and its main goal is to make ethanol production more viable in the fuel industry. The project will also lower an ethanol plant’s Carbon Intensity Score so that more ethanol can be sold in the market. Following the presentation and discussion, the Board will move forward with hiring a county inspector for the project.

Additionally, the Board approved to retain the boundaries for county election precincts, with the exception of the City of Jefferson, which draws its own boundaries.
