Funeral services for James Nelson, 83, of Dallas Center, formerly of rural Bouton, will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2021, at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Perry. Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Murdock Funeral Home.

Memorials will be directed to Dallas County 4-H or Dallas County Fair Association. They may be sent to Murdock Funeral Home in care of the Nelson family.

Survivors include four sons: Chris (Lori) Nelson of Minburn, Craig (Natilie) Nelson of Minburn, Jay (Paula) Nelson of Perry, Joel (Renee) Nelson of Carroll; one daughter, Kendra (Matt) Norman of Granger; two brothers, John Nelson of Los Angeles, CA, Bill Nelson of Creve Coeur, MO, three sisters, Karen (Larry) Taylor, Helen Ann Harrison of Stone Mountain, GA, Linda Nelson of Chatsworth, CA, and nine grandchildren.
