Coming off a season opening 33-29 girls’ basketball victory on Monday night in Ogden, Coach Tori Ogden’s team steps up several notches tomorrow night. The Rams play a girl/boy doubleheader on Friday vs. Roland-Story in Story City and the R-S girls show up as the number 11 team in Class 3A in the preseason rankings. R-S lost its season opener to Class 4A Gilbert, a top 10 ranked team, 65-50, after the Norsemen led at halftime, then were held to 10 points in the second half.

Greene County had three girls account for all but one point vs. the Bulldogs. Senior post Brianna Habben had 13 points with 10 by junior guard Emma Hoyle, followed by freshman guard Emma Shipley with nine. The Rams are likely to face full-court pressure defense vs. R-S, so ball handling and finding the open girl could be essential.

Both games Friday can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 5:45 p.m., the girls playing at 6 p.m., and the boys to follow.
