For those who would like to get their picture taken with Santa, there will be a free opportunity to do so this weekend in Adel. 

Adel Volunteer Fire Department Captain Matt Ireland says Santa will be available for photos from 8-11 a.m. Saturday at the fire station and there will also be pancakes and sausage courtesy of Adel Scout Troop 152 cooking them from 8-10 a.m. 

“The Boy Scouts and the fire department have partnered together for many years doing this event. Last year obviously things got a little curveball thrown at us but we are super excited to get things back to a new version of normal. The volunteers love to show off what we have at the fire station as well as the partnership with the Boy Scouts. It’s a great time for the community to come and see the fire station and the big guy himself will be there from 8 (a.m.) to 10 (a.m.).”

Ireland tells Raccoon Valley Radio there will also be a photographer on hand to assist with taking free photos with Santa that will then be emailed to families or they use their own devices as well. There will also be crafts for children to do.
