Local schools are preparing to showcase their winter concerts, and there will be one such performance on Monday in Perry.

The Perry High School Music Department will present a winter concert and dessert auction beginning at 7 p.m. Monday in the Perry Performing Arts Center. Vocal Music Director Jenn Nelson says the concert will host multiple acts.

“It will feature the high school concert band and then the high school choir. For the choirs we will have a bass clef piece, a treble clef piece, our select choir will perform one piece, and then our concert choir has a few Christmas pieces.”

Nelson tells Raccoon Valley Radio in between the song selections there will be a live auction for desserts that will go to benefit the students trip to New York City over spring break next year. Nelson says there may be another opportunity to purchase desserts.

“We do anticipate having enough items that we will also have some items that will be in the lobby for a silent auction and so audience members will have a chance before the concert and then also at intermission to go out and bid on those items as well.”

There is no cost for admission to attend the winter concert and dessert auction.
