Portions of the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area will be under a winter storm warning this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Dallas and Guthrie counties from 6am to midnight tomorrow. Snowfall totals could be as high as nine inches and winds gusting as high as 35 miles per hour. Weather officials say travel will be very difficult and the high winds could cause whiteout conditions with blowing snow. Greene County will be under a winter weather advisory from 6am to midnight on New Year’s Day. Snow accumulations could be as high as three inches. 

The National Weather Service has also issued a wind chill advisory for Greene County starting tonight at 9pm through tomorrow at 6am. Wind chills could be as low as 25 degrees below zero overnight tonight. Stay tuned to Raccoon Valley Radio for winter weather updates, as well as changing road conditions.
