There are parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area under a winter storm warning today. 

The National Weather Service in Des Moines issued a winter storm warning for Dallas and Guthrie counties which will expire at midnight tonight. Weather officials say people can expect moderate to heavy snowfall and travel could become very difficult with blowing snow and reduced visibility to go along with the snow covered roadways. Snowfall totals could range up to six inches for Dallas and Guthrie counties. 

Greene County will also be under a winter weather advisory until midnight tonight. Bitter cold temperatures will also come along with the snow at times throughout today through Sunday morning. Snowfall totals for Greene County get as high as three inches.
