After one-sided losses at Webster City on Tuesday night, the Greene County varsity basketball teams go to Des Moines Friday night at Saydel High School to face the Eagles in a girl/boy doubleheader. Both games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with the girls at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.

Greene County has lost eight straight girls’ games and is 1-8 on the season while the Saydel girls are 0-9. Neither team has a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference victory, and both have difficulty scoring points as they average fewer than 27 per game.

The boys’ contest features 4-5 Greene County at 3-5 Saydel. The Rams are 4-2 in conference play while the Eagles are 2-4. Both have conference wins over South Hamilton (Jewell) and Perry, while the Rams also have HOIAC victories over West Marshall (State Center) and PCM (Monroe).
