Greene County improved to 12-4 in wrestling dual meets with a pair of Heart of Iowa Activities Conference victories last night. Coach Zach Beekman’s Rams were in Monroe and defeated PCM by a score of 51-30 and South Hamilton (Jewell), 54-27.

Rams going 2-0 on the night were Gavyn Winters (106), Jacob Harmeyer (113), McKinley Robbins (132), Brenner Gallagher (138/145), Jackson Turner (145-152), Gavin Scheuermann (152/160), and Nathan Black (160/170), Noble Hoyt (170/182). Winters, Robbins, Hoyt, and Gallagher, each had two falls. Turner had a fall and a 9-8 decision, Scheuermann and Harmeyer had two forfeits while Black had a fall and one forfeit.

An earlier Raccoon Valley Radio story omitted Hoyt’s results because they were reported incorrectly, as was the team score vs. PCM at 45-36 when it was actually 51-30.

Greene County originally was going to wrestle tomorrow at the Solon Invitational. That has changed and if the Perry Invitational is held tomorrow, Greene County will go to Perry with an 11 a.m. start. Regardless, the Rams will not be going to Solon. If Perry’s tournament is not held, the Rams will have a Saturday with no competition.
