Governor Kim Reynolds awarded child care grants to the Guthrie County community. 

The nearly $37 million in child care grants will fund 108 projects across 72 communities including Panora for the Little Panther Daycare project  which received $230,000 to add additional capacity and $450,000 was awarded to the Panorama Daycare Center to purchase and renovate their existing building. The Little Charger Early Learning Center in Guthrie Center received $449,000 to create a stable workforce and drive community growth. In Stuart the Exploration Learning Station was awarded $58,000 for an expansion project to provide more room for child care. 

According to Iowa Workforce Development, the child care grants are supposed to create 5,200 new child care slots in Iowa.
