Wednesday, January 12th

1:58am: An officer located an Open Door at 300 North Elm Street and contacted a Key Holder.

12:34pm: A caller reported Suspicious Behavior from a driver at 208 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer located the reported vehicle, but did not see anything occurring.

2:01pm: Earl Cherryholmes requested an officer at 408 North Maple Street for a Civil Property Exchange.

4:45pm: A caller advised of (3) Dogs at Large in the 600 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. The officer did not locate the animals.

6:16pm: An officer responded to a Medical Issue at 517 North Olive Street. The officer is attempting to work with family members to reach a solution. The officer will contact DHS to assist the subject.

7:12pm: John Hovick reported a Careless Driver in the 300 Block of North Oak Street. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

7:44pm: An officer assisted a semi driver, who was broke down on 220th Street, near Oakland Ave.

Thursday, January 13th

4:08am: Tyler Rysavy requested a Welfare Check on his wife at 100 North Olive Street. The officer transported the female to ER to be evaluated by a Medical doctor.

10:42am: A Traffic Stop at 1207 North Elm Street resulted in Alicia Hawkins of Jefferson being cited for, “ Driving While Suspended and Fail to Have SR-22 Insurance.”

1:45pm: A caller requested a Welfare Check on a female and children at 304 North Vine Street, after not seeing any movement for several days at the residence. The officer went to the door ad made contact with a female. The officer noticed the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence. During a Consent Search of the residence, the officer took suspected narcotics and paraphernalia items into Evidence for testing at the lab. Charges are pending at this time.

3:14pm: The Wild Rose casino reported a male subject on the Gaming Floor, who had signed a Self-Exclusion Form on 05/12/2007. Chanxay Siriphan of Des Moines was cited for, “Trespassing – Simple.”

6:21pm: A caller advised of Suspicious Activity in the 400 Block of South Chestnut Street. The officer is investigating.

7:34pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical call in the 300 Block of North Cedar Street.

10:49pm: An officer located two subjects arguing in the street beside a vehicle near Cedar and East Adams Streets. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Robert Harvilicz, 42 of Jefferson for, “Public Intoxication – Simple.”

Friday, January 14th

1:49am: Dan Scheuermann reported hearing loud banging noises in the 500 Block of North Wilson Ave. The officer did not locate anything in the area.

9:58am: An officer was advised of an Open Door at 204 East Lincoln Way Street. The building owner was contacted, and the door was secured.

9:38am: An officer was assisted by Jefferson Fire, GC Ambulance, and deputies with a Head On Collision on 220th Street, near Mulberry. A 2005 Nissan Sentra, owned by Mariah McCoy of Wakefield, NE. and operated by James Cummings of Des Moines struck an oncoming vehicle head on. The 2008 Buick SUV was owned by Jose Baquera of Fort Morgan, CO. and was operated by Luis Mendoza. Both vehicles were a total loss. Officers were unable to determine which vehicle was in the wrong lane and no citations were issued. Cummings was transported to ER with injuries.

11:31am: A Traffic Stop in the 900 Block of North Grimmell Road resulted in Suzanne Krieger-Mjolsness of Nevada, IA. Being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

Saturday, January 15th

2:05am: Beth Joy reported her husband went outside to scoop the snow from the driveway and she can not find him now at 517 North Olive Street. The officer arrived and did not see any evidence of anyone moving snow in the area. After speaking further with Dowd, the officer determined her husband was in the hospital in Des Moines and she was confused.

1:57am: An officer assisted a motorist with mechanical issues near Maple and Adams Streets.

8:23am: Methodist West Medical Center requested a welfare check on a female in the 500 Block of North Olive Street. The officer made contact with the female, who advised she was fine.

11:32am: Emily Hayes reported her vehicle became stuck in the snow in the 600 Block of North Chestnut Street. The vehicle had been removed when the officer arrived to assist.

4:25pm: Linda Cherryholmes advised she had locked herself out of her residence at 408 North Maple Street. Officers were able to gain access to the residence with no damage.

8:03pm: Gene Dillavou reported his neighbor’s vehicle was stuck in a shared driveway at 402 North Pinet Street and he could not fit his vehicle past it to get his off of the street. When the officers arrived, Dillavou reported he had spoken to the neighbor, who would be moving the vehicle.

10:16pm: June Wood reported her heat was not working at 1000 West Adams #39. She was unable to reach the apartment manager. She was able to get the heat on while she was speaking to the officer.

10:25pm: Kyle Rysavy spoke with an officer in connection to a Civil Child Custody Issue.

Sunday, January 16th

12:20am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop with a speeding vehicle in the 200 Block of Head Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Todd Edward Geisler, 49 of Jefferson for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious and Excessive Speed – Simple.”

8:41am: Tony Ratliff reported the Theft on an Apple Watch from 504 South Oak Street.

9:39pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 300 American Ave. The alarm company cancelled the officer before he arrived advising it was a False Alarm.

11:28pm: A Traffic Stop near Grimmell Road and 220th Street resulted in Tammy Tolsdorf of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”

Monday, January 17th

12:00pm: Candice Welch reported a possible Domestic Abuse Assault situation occurring in Jefferson with a friend. The officer is working to determine if assistance is needed.

4:26pm: A caller advised of Suspicious Activity occurring in the 400 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer is investigating.

6:22pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of West Vest Street.

Tuesday, January 18th

6:46am: Katherine Thomas reported a Stray Dog in the 600 Block of South Oak Street. The officer located the animal, but was unable to catch it.

11:57am: Robert McCauley advised of receiving text messages from an unknown subject attempting to purchase narcotics. The officer is investigating.

1:40pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 700 Block of Wild Rose Lane.

12:51pm: Amanda Carlson reported someone had struck and damaged her mail box at 716 South Locust Street.

2:11pm: A caller advised of a speeding northbound vehicle on Neola Ave, heading towards Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

3:18pm: Bruce Binkley requested a Welfare Check on a male in the 300 Block of South Wilson Ave. The officer spoke to the subject, who advised they were fine.

4:47pm: Jared Dennhardt reported his vehicle had left the roadway and struck an Alliant Energy station box near Grimmell and Clark Streets. Dennhardt advised he applied his brakes to avoid striking a slow-moving vehicle ahead of him. He attempted to go around the vehicle and lost control of his 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and entered the ditch, striking the electric box. Dennhardt’s vehicle had a reported $2000.00 in front end damages. Alliant Energy was contacted to repair the box and estimated the damages at $25,000.00. Dennhardt was cited for, “Fail to Maintain Control.”

6:37pm: Rick Morain reported a pickup parked in the driveway of a Jeferson residence that he is watching while the owner is away. He advised the truck had since left the area. The officer offered Extra Patrol in the area.

7:56pm: An officer assisted ER Staff with an Unruly Patient in ER.

9:27pm: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets resulted in Clayton Nelson of Lenox being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
