A local Perry animal shelter was recently a recipient of a donation from employees at a local hospital. 

Raccoon River Pet Rescue recently announced it received a donation of $450 from the employees at Dallas County Hospital that will help the shelter purchase needed items such as food, litter and supplies for the cats and the dogs in the shelter. 

The donation is a result of a yearlong process where on the first Friday of the month employees in qualifying departments donate $2 and a canned good to be able to wear jeans to work that day. Team members nominate and vote on who the beneficiary will be and for the year of 2021 it was Raccoon River Pet Rescue.
