Tonight is when President Joe Biden will deliver his State of the Union Address.

The Republican Party has tabbed Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds to give the Republican response. Iowa District 24 Senator Jesse Green of Boone says all Iowans should be proud of this honor.

“During tough times the strength of a leader and the real leaders rise up, I think Governor Reynolds has delivered. It’s reflective of her approval ratings, she has great numbers and great support, bipartisan support and it’s not by accident. She’s got a proven track record of great leadership.”

Green reminds Iowans that U.S. Senator Joni Ernst also gave a Republican response to former President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address in 2015. He adds, this shows Iowa had leaders to continuously give notable Iowans a stage to present themselves across the country.
