A Jefferson woman was recently sentenced to probation for an August incident.

According to court documents, 55-year-old Tammy Tolsdorf pled guilty to a Class D Felony for her third or subsequent offense for possession of methamphetamine. She had a five year prison sentence suspended and was placed on probation for two years with the Iowa Department of Corrections.

The charge stemmed from an incident on August 11, 2021. A Jefferson Police Officer was at Tolsdorf’s home for an arrest warrant for another individual who was staying at the residence. When the officer arrested that individual, the officer noticed other drug-related items in the home and told Tolsdorf a search warrant would be secured, however she gave permission for the officer to conduct the search. The officer found several drug items and Tolsdorf was subsequently arrested.

As per the plea agreement, the other charges against Tolsdorf, including a serious misdemeanor for possession of marijuana and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed. She was also ordered to pay over $1,000 in fines, surcharges, court costs and court appointed attorney fees.
