For the first time in decades, Jefferson is the site of a high school girls’ golf first round regional tournament. Greene County hosts the eight-team event at Jefferson Community Golf Course today with golfers playing 18 holes. Today’s team and individual qualifiers will advance to a Class 2A Regional final on May 18 at the Nishna Hills Golf Club in Atlantic.

In addition to Greene County, teams involved are East Sac County, South Central Calhoun, Southeast Valley, MVAOCOU (Maple Valley), OABCIG (Ida Grove). Roland-Story and Kuemper Catholic (Carroll).
