Greene County High School will be well represented at the May 19-20-21 State Coed Track & Field Meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. After Thursday’s State Qualifying Meet in Treynor the Rams knew they had automatic qualifiers because three boys’ events and two for girls finished in the top two, which meant automatic qualification. After the Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union determined At-Large qualifiers late Friday night, the full list of qualifiers in all four classes was released.

The Ram will have five events for boys and four for girls competing at Drake Stadium. Junior Olivia Shannon qualified in the maximum four events. She’ll be in the long jump, 200 meter dash, 4 x 100 meter relay and 4 x 200 meter relay. Shannon will be joined in both relays by twin sisters Katrina and Natalie Heupel, with Bella Schroeder on the anchor for both events.

Senior Jackson Morton will be in three events on the boys’ side and all involve hurdling. Morton anchors the shuttle hurdle relay, which also include Landyn Venteicher, Bryce Stalder, and Nate Black. Morton qualified individually in the 110 meter high hurdles and 400 meter low hurdles. Stalder will be in the long jump and Black qualified in the high jump.

All three Raccoon Valley Radio stations will have reports all three days from Drake Stadium.
