Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls track and field were back for day number two at the state meet on Friday, and they were able to find some great results in many different events. The boys 1600 medley was able to win the state championship, breaking the all time 3A record with a time of 3 minutes 27 seconds. That talented team included Keaton Jackson, Gavin Todd, Daniel Onwuramaka, and Aidan Ramsey.

The boys side, Anthony Glay is able to finish 4th in the long jump with a distance of 22-00. The 4×200 meter relay team finishes 12th with a time of 1 minute 32 seconds. Skyler Nolte finishes 22nd in the hurdles with a time of 16.33 seconds.

On the girls side, the distance medley team was able to put up a 9th place finish with a time of 4 minutes 17 seconds. Kileigh Lachacz was able to set a school record in shot put with an 8th place finish of 39-7.

The third and final day is today for the state meet in Des Moines, and DCG will have a few opportunities to find state champions. Raccoon Valley Radio will be keeping you posted on the final day with live updates from Drake University.
