The timeline for the City of Perry wastewater treatment facility improvements is beginning to have concerns surrounding getting equipment.

Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson says this week’s heavy rainfall has caused work to be a little slow and supply chain issues are raising concerns about keeping the timeline on track.

“All in all I think schedules are still looking pretty good. They are starting to have a few concerns about the possibility of some timeline issues with some of the more electrical and mechanical equipment that’s going to be coming up and all of that is more later this fall but they are getting those things ordered and on their way so hopefully that doesn’t mess with our timeline too much.”

Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio there has been plenty of work taking place so far on the approximately $28 million project and if you drive by the location of the wastewater treatment facility you can see new structures starting to be put up which Peterson says is exciting progress. The project is expected to be completed in 2022-23.
