The City of Scranton will be filled with entertainment this weekend.

The festivities begin tomorrow at the community center with Barrell Smoke BBQ food truck at 5pm, followed by the fire department hosting a beverage garden with water, pop and beer available for purchase from 3-11pm. Live musical entertainment with Bad Authority from Carroll performing from 8-10pm. The concert is free and open to the public and attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs to enjoy the music.

Then on Saturday there will be a meal served beginning at 5pm with the Scranton Alumni Association. Kim Linde with the Scranton Alumni Association says they have close to 340 people registered for the meal and those still wanting a meal can do so the day of with a cost of $25 per person. She points out Lidderdale Country Store will serve a variety of meats, along with potatoes, green beans and salads. Linde adds proceeds from the meal goes back to the alumni association. The fire department’s beer garden also opens at 3. The Scranton Church of Christ will also be open from 3-5pm on Saturday for people to see their renovations. Following the meal will be more live musical entertainment with DJ, Andrew Woodley and the Bass Makers from Jefferson. Saturday’s concert is again free and open to the public. 

Both concerts will be in the southwest corner of the community center, near the parking lot. Linde adds this is typically the all school reunion that happens every five years. However, because of the pandemic, they couldn’t hold their event in 2020 or 2021. The next all school reunion will be in 2025.
