The Perry Booster Club will be hosting a cookout this Friday where people can enjoy good food while supporting a worthy cause.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m tomorrow in the Perry Fareway parking lot, the Perry Booster Club will be hosting a fundraiser meal for $7 or just a sandwich for $4 with the money going to the booster club. President Mindy Baxter talks about their organization.

“What the booster club does is we help all middle school and high school athletics and activities. So, the money we raise, we don’t have a certain place it’ll go to but the coaches will come to us and they’ll ask us for any needs they might have and then we will allocate those funds if we are able to or we will discuss as a board and give solutions to that activity or that club.”

Baxter tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of the things they’ve helped with in the past is through purchasing activity warm ups for sports or giving money to the uniform fund each year. Baxter encourages people to come out and enjoy some food tomorrow.

“Anytime you come out and you support the booster club you are supporting the youth in our schools. So, it’s a great thing to get the community involved and the community to help out in that.”

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will also be live during the event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
