The Dallas County Fair will continue into its second day with plenty more fun activities on Thursday.

Tomorrow is Kids Day which will include $1 carnival rides from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. near the gazebo, kids celebrations at 12:45 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. near center stage along with Clover Kids Day from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the community building and mutton bustin beginning at 7 p.m. in the south arena.

Other activities during the day will include a comedy circus near center stage, 4-H/FFA dairy goat and goat shows in the show ring, kids activities by Dallas County Public Health near the gazebo and the 4-H/FFA Dog Show in the show ring. Dallas County Extension Regional Director Ann Torbert tells Raccoon Valley Radio Kids Day is possible with support from the Dallas County Fair Board.

“When we talk about the Kids Day at the fair, for us we are super fortunate to have a great partnership with our fair board where they really take the leadership around that event itself.”

Torbert tells Raccoon Valley Radio there will also be an open house event for the newly built extension building from 4-6 p.m. tomorrow.

“We will have (the ISU mascot) Cy there who will be happy to take pictures with him and that should be a great event. At the open house we will be featuring drawings for some of our programs which have a fee to them. We will be giving away a free master conservationist class, free farmland leasing, some off of a master gardener class and many others.”

Also, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will broadcast live on location from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel for the fair.
