Severe weather made its way into the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area Saturday evening which prompted severe weather action team coverage.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Greene, Guthrie and Western Dallas counties at 9:15 p.m. with the main hazards being 60-70 mile per hour winds, penny sized hail. The warning was allowed to expire at 9:45 p.m.

Then at 10:07 p.m. a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Northeastern Greene County with the main hazards being 60 mile per hour wind gusts and penny sized hail which was issued until 10:45 p.m. but was allowed to expire early at 10:23 p.m.

Throughout the Severe Weather Action Team coverage three Raccoon Valley Radio staff and a Weatherology meteorologist were live on the air and information was provided by Adair/Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf and Dallas County Emergency Management Coordinator A.J. Seely.
