Greene County High School winter sports teams in boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, and wrestling held Media Day on Tuesday. All three teams officially open their 2022-23 seasons next week. Greene County plays at home in Jefferson on Monday, Nov. 28 vs. Ogden to start the girls and boys basketball seasons. All three sports are in action on Tuesday, Nov. 29 with the wrestlers hosting PCM (Monroe), Ogden, and Van Meter in the high school gym in Jefferson. Both basketball teams play on Tuesday in Panora vs. Panorama.  All Ram basketball games will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

Two of the three teams are low on numbers with boys’ basketball being the exception. Head coach Chris Nelson and assistant Todd Gordon have 35 boys out between grades nine and 12. Girls’ basketball and wrestling combined don’t have that many participants. Coach Tori Ogden has a squad of 14 girls out for basketball and Coach Zach Beekman has 16 wrestlers.
