The Dallas Center-Grimes girls wrestling program put together a good effort this weekend in Waukee.

The Mustangs wrestled in the Waukee Northwest Invitational on Saturday and they tied with Ames in second place with 164 points out of 18 teams.

Two wrestlers for DCG stood out in this tournament that that includes Maya Fritz (26-5) at 170 pounds and Halley Beaudet (21-7) at 190 pounds both finished first in their respective bracket. Other podium placements included Asia Jahangir (22-4) losing in the championship round and placing second in the 130 pound bracket along with Gracie Waage losing in the third place match and grabbing fourth place in the 110 pound division.

The next date on the schedule for Dallas Center-Grimes girls wrestling will be on Tuesday versus Clarke at Dallas Center-Grimes High School.
