The above freezing temperatures brought out a lot of riders to Perry for the Bike Ride to Rippey Saturday.

The 46th Annual BRR brought riders to the Hotel Pattee before setting out on their ride to Rippey. The number of registered riders was 618 including 97 people who supported the ride with donations for a total of 715 people. Dallas County Iowa Amatuer Radio Emergency Radio counted 1,159 riders while stationed on the route. Perry Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti thanked everyone involved in making it another year of having a successful BRR ride.

“We’re very, very thankful to have the Perry Fire Department helping out with the SAG wagon, the Dallas County Amateur Radio, Emergency Services being eyes and ears out on the road to help with that so that they can see if there’s any issues. They can radio that in. They can talk with the fire department that’s out on the route going back and forth. So this really is a group effort to make this event happen. We have so many volunteers that have been dedicated to this for years and years and years.”

Pasutti also wanted to thank all their sponsors and community partners for helping to put together another fun ride.
