Saydel took advantage of a depleted pitching staff Monday night, defeating Perry 6-1 in Heart of Iowa action from Des Moines. The Eagles scored three times in the bottom of the first inning while holding the Bluejay offense to one hit on the night. Geren Kenney, Fausto Beato and Juan Hernandez all toed the rubber for Perry. Kenney allowed three earned runs in his first start of the season while Beato was solid out of the bullpen tossing 4 2/3 innings with two earned runs.
Drake Levan had the only base hit for Perry. Kenney added a stolen base and Beato a run scored.
Perry falls to 3-8 on the season while Saydel improves to 7-4.
