The Dallas County Fair is off and running in Adel, with the coronation happening on Friday.
The second of five queen candidates is Brinna Orr, who is preparing for her senior year at Woodward-Granger High School. Orr tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she enjoys raising livestock at home with her family as well as entertaining herself with truck shows.
Orr ran for fair queen last year and was the runner-up to the eventual Queen Celia Kreifels. She shares that speaking with people comes easy.
“I’m a talker, that’s one of my traits that people like to point out about me. I kind of yap a lot, I talk, and I’m good at I guess talking a lot, I don’t really ‘shut up sometimes’.”
Orr really takes the whole experience of the fair in, as she elaborates on her favorite aspects of the fair.
“Being around all the livestock, going around the fair, seeing what’s happening, talking to people, and seeing different experiences.”
At Woodward-Granger, Orr is involved with the softball team, FFA, Dallas County Cattlemen’s Association, and an advocate for mental health within the school district. The queen coronation is taking place Friday at 3pm at the Dallas County Fairgrounds, 28057 Fairground Road, in Adel.
