Library patrons across the state may have noticed that they cannot sign up online for a Library Adventure Pass.

Mary J Barnett Memorial Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that there were issues with the registration software provider, and the last day reservations could be made were December 31, 2024, but that tickets patrons registered for before that date would still be honored. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that as of yet, there’s no news on when the website will be up and running again.

“I have not heard yet. I know that’s handled by another library, and I know she is getting pricing from different software companies to see what we can do. I don’t think she’s been able to find one as of yet. They were hoping to have it solved before the end of the year, so I’m hoping we will be getting that resolved here shortly.”

Hawkins mentions that the passes allow library card holders to sign up for two adult and two children tickets to get into the Science Center of Iowa, Blank Park Zoo and Des Moines Children’s Museum for free.
