A ribbon-cutting was held Friday morning to publicly unveil the new location of an established business in Jefferson.

Dr. Philip Heisterkamp owns Greater Life Health and Wellness, formerly Greater Life Chiropractic, as he introduced several new treatments such as the hyperbaric oxygen tanks, red-light therapy and a sauna and explained why he expanded to include those options.

“If you create the environment for your body to heal, health will chase you down. You just have to remove the things that interfere with your body getting well. So, it’s all of the modalities are made to help your body heal and do what it’s already supposed to do. If it’s not healing, that’s a sign, there’s some interference. All we got to do, remove the interference and health is yours.” 

Heisterkamp explained that changing the business name was a no-brainer because he wanted to be more than just chiropractic care.

“You’re the only you that’s ever been. There’s nobody exactly like you, you’re unique, you require unique touches, (and) unique fixes. And so, once you figure out what that person needs, it’s easy. The health and wellness is all about the full health picture and not just one aspect.” 

Heisterkamp acknowledged his parents, Tim and Chris, for their help making the new space come to fruition. He said the oxygen chamber increases the amount of air that your body breathes to 90 percent. He noted that red-light therapy helps to stimulate your body’s energy level, while the sauna assists your body to sweat out the toxins.
