Greene County was a 25-20, 25-8, 25-8 high school volleyball winner at Saydel High School in Des Moines last night. the Rams improved to 8-8 overall and 3-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play while the Eagles are 3-12, 0-6.

Head coach Chris Heisterkamp told Raccoon Valley Radio, “In the first set we started with solid passing, but hitters weren’t finishing the play for us. Hitting errors and five missed serves made for a rocky start. Strong serving from Elle Happe and renewed focus on attacking helped shift the momentum. Elle served 11 times in a row (set 3), six of which were aces.”

Madi Skalla served at a 12 for 13 rate while Kaycee Pittman was 10 for 11 at the service line and Natalee Baugh went eight of nine. Hanna Fouch and Lila Osterson each had eight kills for the Rams with seven for Makenna Ebersole. Calleigh Fitzpatrick had three kills with two from Emmalee Baugh and one each for Pittman and Vanessa Hale.

Greene County hosts their tournament tomorrow in the high school gym in Jefferson. Action begins at 9 a.m.
