A fundraiser is right around the corner for one non-profit organization in Jefferson.
Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County President Danielle Ross says tomorrow, singer-songwriter and musician Jeni Grouws will be performing at 5pm, as the opening act for the Weary Ramblers at 7pm. Ross states that Grouws earned top honors at the 2020 Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition and the 2021 International Songwriting Competition.
Ross notes that the Weary Ramblers, featuring the duo Chad Elliott and Kathryn Severing-Fox, won Best Group/Duo Award from the 21st Annual Acoustic Music Awards and were semi-finalists for the 2024 International Songwriting Competition. The ensemble are also nominees for several Josie Music Awards. The suggested donation for the concert is $10.
Additionally, Thomas Jefferson Gardens has a silent auction going on now that will close at 9pm tomorrow night. Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says the proceeds will go toward continuing to make the gardens extravagant.
“We see lots of people, especially spring through fall of course, coming to enjoy the gardens, come and ask lots of questions. But it is a real attractive and it’s a landmark. And a great thing for local residents, but also as far as tourism goes, that’s a thing that people stop in and want to hear about.”
Items will be available for viewing inside the Welcome Center today from 10am-4pm and tomorrow from 10am-9pm. You can also click here to see the items online.
