The Perry High School Marching Band recently participated in the North Polk Invitational, and achieved great individual performances.
Band Director Blaine Schmidt highlights that drum majors Elsie Aguilar, Alexandra Rodriguez, and Levi Thoren placed second out of nine schools for Class 3A. He explains that the Marching Band accomplished eighth place overall in Class 3A, with a score of 56.30 out of 100. Schmidt is proud of the effort the students put out and is looking forward to seeing how they continue to improve over the course of the season.
Schmidt says Perry will have two separate performances on Saturday, October 18th, as they travel to Waukee for the Iowa High School Music Association State Contest, taking the stage at 9:25am, followed by the Ankeny Mid Iowa Band Championship at Ankeny Stadium happening at 5:30pm.
