Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has started meetings for the youngest members of the community that can participate in a 4-H sub-program.

Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that Clover Kids meetings have already begun for the year, and that they have three different meeting dates. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why it can be a good idea to have your children take part in the program.

“Clover Kids has curriculum that is age appropriate for that K (kindergarten) through third grade youth. So there’s different vetted curriculum through Iowa State University and other universities. We use that programming. It’s all age appropriate for them. It gives them an experience of going to those monthly meetings.”

Savage mentions that the program also allows these young kids an opportunity to take part in meetings geared more for them, than having to follow an older sibling to their 4-H club meeting.
