October 19th through the 25th is National Friends of Libraries Week, and the Perry Library will be participating.
Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Perry will be following the theme of “You’ve Got a Friend in the Perry Public Library.” She illustrates that the week is important because it allows the organization to focus on how essential the Friends of the Perry Public Library is.
“They are what makes possible our programming, and a lot of the extra things that you see at the library, those are made possible because we have our Friends of the Library. The library is the heart of the community, and it’s a community place where you can hopefully come and find belonging and help with different services that you need.”
Farmer highlights that the Friends of the Perry Public Library will be doing giveaways on their Facebook page, as well as give kids an opportunity to explore a scavenger hunt at the library. For more information, contact the Perry Public Library at (515)-465-3569.
