With the holidays around the corner, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is raising money to help families, as they’re hosting an annual fundraiser tomorrow.
According to Sergeant Ray Dirksen, the sheriff’s office will hold their third Annual Fall Car Cruise for a Cause, which sees classic cars drive through different assisted living facilities within central Iowa. He says drivers will meet at the sheriff’s office, 28985 Thin Blue Line Lane, in Adel at 10am, then at 10:30am, they’ll take a number of vehicles to visit Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center, then travel back to Adel to the Edencrest Senior Living, before driving to Hanging Rock Park in Redfield to take pictures with all the participants.
Dirksen confirms that the event is a free-will donation, as the money is going to benefit the sheriff’s office Shop with a Cop campaign, as well as holiday food basket programs orchestrated by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Benevolent Association. He notes that people are welcome to bring their vehicles to cruise, and are allowed to just show up the morning of, and will not need to pre-register.
