
In their first season in Class 5A, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs football team have qualified for the 2025 state football tournament. The Mustangs start the playoffs on the road, traveling to Sioux City to face off against the East Black Raiders.
The Mustangs return to the state playoffs for the first time in five years, with DCG’s last appearance being in 2020. Quarterback Chase Engel, enters the playoffs with 1677 passing yards and 15 touchdowns, with his main target Chase Heitland entering the playoffs with five receiving touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns. Heitland and Osborn Grimm look to establish the running game while linebacker Connor Stolpe looks to lead the Mustang defense against the Black Raiders as Stolpe ending the regular season leading Class 5A in total and solo tackles.
Kick off for Mustang playoff football is scheduled for 7pm on Friday with the pregame show on KDLS scheduled for 6pm.
